OUTREACH

Local Outreach

We believe the local church is called to demonstrate the love of Jesus to our neighbors.  Our goal is to create clear pathways for the Church to step up and serve vulnerable children, families, and individuals in need.  We believe serving others introduces people to the heart of God while also meeting basic needs.

We believe local missions are driven by Cypress individuals and groups who see a need in their community and take initiative to meet it.  When you step up to serve, you show the love of Jesus to your neighbors!

Serve Day is one day when all our small groups meet needs in their communities at the same time—join a group and a Serve Day project when the Summer Directory opens and be part of it.

Local Outreach Partners

This ministry provides beds and the hope of Jesus to the Columbus area.  Bed Brigade donate an average of approximately 600 beds each year.  One year, Cypress purchased and built 400 beds for Bed Brigade. Volunteers can be part of the deliveries or the building of the beds. This is great for families and small groups! Click "Bed Bridgade" above to find out more.
Convoy of Hope is a faith-based humanitarian organization dedicated to feeding the hungry and bringing hope to communities in need, and Cypress supports them through financial donations, resources, and volunteer teams. From their World Distribution Center in Missouri, Convoy trucks deliver food and relief supplies across the U.S. and beyond, responding to disasters and supporting community events. With aid reaching over 130 countries and regional offices in Europe and Australia, Convoy of Hope tackles natural disasters, extreme poverty, and hunger on a global scale.
DNA offers programs that meet the physical and spiritual needs in the communities. Volunteers can help with Saturday morning pancake breakfast and a Kids Kloset, a monthly community meal. This is great for families!
Dublin1, previously known as Welcome Warehouse, supports Dublin City and School District residents struggling to meet basic needs because of job loss, underemployment, health crises, or other challenges. There are multiple volunteer opportunities including volunteering in the free shop, helping fulfill and deliver orders, sorting donations in the warehouse, and delivering mattresses for the bed donation program.
This ministry is serving our neighbors in the Hilliard area by ending poverty through life-changing relationships. They do this practically by offering an ESL program throughout the school year and a Summer Lunch Camp at a few locations. Volunteers can serve in various ways.
The Grove City Food Pantry provides groceries for families Monday through Friday. Volunteers can help load cars during pickup (this currently happens 12:00-2:00pm by appointment), bag groceries, and help organize the pantry. This is right across the street from our Grove City campus!
The Hope Center is the hub for helping those in need in Union County. The ministry includes a weekly meal, furniture bank, clothing store, and programming for youth.
Kairos shares the love and forgiveness of Jesus with incarcerated men, women, youth, and their families. When you give to Cypress, you help support Kairos Prison Ministry of Ohio. Your generosity provides resources for inmates, guards, and staff to hear messages on faith, forgiveness, and more—along with refreshments for all involved. Thank you for making this possible! Click "Kairos Prison Ministry" above to learn how you or your small group can volunteer.
This ministry works in the Grove City community to connect their hungry neighbors with nutritious food, stabilizing families today while helping them access resources for tomorrow so they can thrive for the future. They provide 140,000 meals each day in Central and Eastern Ohio. Volunteers can help sort and pack the groceries for families.
This ministry provides encouragement and tutoring help for kids at Leawood and Lindbergh Elementary. They also run a Summer Camp where kids hear about Jesus, they go through stations where they do academic, art, and physical activities. Year around Seven Baskets supplies weekend nutrition bags to kids in need of additional food support at home.
