the Cypress Kids Difference Maker Team!
Before you begin serving in Cypress Kids, please complete the steps below so you feel prepared, confident, and ready to help create a fun, friendly, focused, and safe environment for every child.
1. Complete Your Background Check
Every Cypress Kids Difference Maker age 18 and older must have a current background check on file before serving in a Kids environment.

2. Complete Safety Training
Safety is a Non-Negotiable in Cypress Kids. Please complete the required safety training videos to review our expectations for protecting children and creating a safe ministry environment.

3. Attend Your Cypress Kids Onboarding
During your in-person onboarding, a Cypress Kids Leader will:
After onboarding, contact your campus Kids Leader if you have any questions regarding your Planning Center account.
4. Complete Your Shadow Experience
Before serving on your own, you will be scheduled to shadow an experienced Difference Maker in your serving area. During your shadow experience, you will observe the classroom or ministry area, learn the flow of the service, and begin becoming familiar with your role and responsibilities.
Your Cypress Kids Leader will contact you with the details of your shadow experience and any next steps.
Your Next Step
Once you have completed the required steps, your Kids Leader will connect with you about your shadow experience and first serving opportunity.

- Review the role description and training for your serving area
- Help you access Planning Center through the mobile app or website
- Show you how to view your schedule, respond to serving requests, update your availability, and access materials
- Explain what to expect during your shadow experience
