Wouldn't Open

The Bible says that Jericho was shut tight against Israel—its gates barred, with no one coming or going. From a human standpoint, it looked unconquerable. But before Joshua ever took a step toward the city, God had already spoken the outcome: the city was as good as given. The victory was declared before the first march even began.
Many of us are staring at our own version of Jericho right now—a broken relationship, a barred door, a problem that looks fortified from every angle. This devotional begins where faith always begins: not with a strategy, but with a promise. God said, “I have given you Jericho.”
Reflect: What "closed city" are you facing today—a relationship, a diagnosis, a financial wall, a dream that seems impossible? What would it look like to believe God has already spoken over it before you see any movement?
Prayer Prompt: Lord, You see the walls in my life that look immovable. Before I have a plan, before I see any change, help me trust that You have already spoken over this situation. Give me eyes to see it the way You see it—not as a dead end, but as territory You intend to give me. Amen.
