Early Childhood Ministry Leader, Birth - 5 years of age

The Early Childhood Ministry Leader is a spiritual and organizational leader who is directly responsible for offering an amazing ministry program for birth-5 years old at the Alton Darby Campus. Oversight includes but is not limited to strong leadership that continually emphasizes the vision and strategy of Cypress. This role involves regular recruiting efforts, training and caring for team members, collaborating with the entire Kids team, and ensuring a welcoming safe environment for kids and their families.

Requirements

  •  2+ years Kids Ministry experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A good role model

  • Experience in problem solving conflict management
  • Experience in classroom management and creative teaching styles
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization
  • A self-starter, highly motivated

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain a team of Difference Makers to lead weekend services. This includes regular weekly meetings with current and potential Difference Makers.
  • Engage with kids and parents during weekend services and special events
  •  Ensure correct number of leaders for each service based on adult/child ratios that are set by the Kids Ministry Director
  • Assist in hospitality, welcoming new guests, calming nervous parents/kids, etc.
  • Set up and tear down before and after weekend services and events
  • Work with Kids Ministry Director and Campus Pastor to execute dedications, special events, parent meetings, training meetings, etc.
  • Attend regular Kids Team meetings with the Kids Ministry Director, with attendance adjusted based on the part-time schedule
  • Participate in campus meetings with the Campus Pastor as needed, with flexibility based on availability
  • Attend monthly all-staff meetings and Getting Started sessions, with adjustments as necessary to accommodate the part-time schedule
  • Attend Getting Started monthly
  • Provide a weekly report following weekend services
  • Other duties as assigned
