Early Childhood Kids Leader

The Early Childhood Kids Leader is a spiritual and organizational leader who is directly responsible for offering an amazing ministry program for birth-5 years old at the Alton Darby Campus.  Oversight includes but is not limited to strong leadership and ensuring that things are led in such a way that engages the church with God and one another, continually emphasizing the vision and strategy of Cypress and how that influences Cypress Kids programs, training of and caring for team members while working with various groups within the department.

Requirements

  • Has a passion for kids
  • 2+ years Kids Ministry experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A good role model
  • Works well in team settings
  • Experience in problem solving conflict management
  • Experience in classroom management and creative teaching styles
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain a team of difference makers to lead weekly services
  • Follow ratio guidelines to schedule appropriate number of leaders for each service
  • Distribute curriculum to volunteers and ensure supplies are organized in a timely manner
  • Engage children and parents during weekend services and special events
  • Schedule appropriate number of leaders for each service based on adult/child ratios that are set by the Kids Ministry Director
  • Maintain supplies and toys for each classroom 
  • Assist in hospitality, welcoming new guests, calming nervous parents/kids, etc.
  • Set up and tear down before and after weekend services and events. Support the preschool by putting items back in the rooms.
  • Work with Kids Ministry Director and Campus Pastor to execute dedications, special events, parent meetings, training meetings, etc.
  • Work with Kids Ministry Director to ensure campus consistency by using approved communication, scheduling, and work assignment systems.
  • Provide a weekly report following weekend services
  • Work with your direct supervisor to reach all quarterly goals
  • Other duties as assigned
