Because we have been blessed with significant growth and a vision for expanding our influence through a multi-site strategy, Cypress Church regularly accepts applications for Campus Pastor roles that are likely to be added in the future. Campus Pastors may be hired into training roles in one of our existing campuses and transferred to a newly launched site when needed. To be considered, applicants must be flexible regarding timing and location.
Description
The Campus Pastor is a spiritual and organizational leader who oversees the health and growth of the campus. Oversight includes but is not limited to solid leadership and leading in such a way that engages the church with God and one another, continually emphasizing the vision and strategy of Cypress.
Requirements
- A strong walk with God through a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Teachable, with a desire to grow in their faith and abilities
- A self-starter—highly motivated
- Has a passion for seeing people come to Christ and take next steps
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A good role model
- Team player with effective relational skills
- Commit to attend weekend worship regularly and tithe to Cypress
- A champion of Cypress culture who daily lives out the values of the organization
- Proven experience leading in a large church environment
- Multi-site experience a plus
- Broad knowledge and experience leading ministry initiatives for adults, students and kids.
- Alignment with Cypress values and theological beliefs
Responsibilities
- Guides the development of each team member (directly or indirectly)
- Leads the team toward success with vision, focus, and goals
- Collaborates with Central Team leadership in the development and growth of ministry teams
- Ensure staff teams are establishing and maintaining a system of volunteer care
- Regularly hold campus team meetings and one on ones with staff
- Casts vision from the platform and leads with pastoral authority
- Leads campus attendees in spiritual growth in Christ
- Executes Cypress's assimilation strategy to encourage attendees to be fully engaged in the mission of the church
- Performs weddings/funerals as needed
- Provides pastoral care when needed (hospital visits, counseling, etc.)
- Outreach to the community
- Management of facility and grounds operation (directly or indirectly)
- Oversight of campus finances
- Ensure campus staff, contractors, and others on campus are performing in a manner consistent with Cypress’ policy and procedures
- Preparation and execution of weekend experiences and weekday events with excellence
- Meets regularly with the Executive Pastor to develop strategies
- Collaborates with other campus pastors
- Other duties as assigned
